Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Studio One Services

UPDATED 22 March 2020: The salon is temporarily closing for a period of two weeks

These are uncertain times. Every day, I’m having to make difficult decisions and the situation is constantly changing.

After Friday’s announcements from the government and following a lot of careful thought, I have decided to take some responsibility to help with the current national crisis.

As of the end of day on Saturday 21 March, I have chosen to voluntarily close our doors for two weeks. We will also not be delivering any mobile services during this period. I do not know what will happen beyond this point, but will continue to monitor the situation to keep you updated as much as I can.

Our neighbouring business, J’s Beauty will be doing the same. She will be contacting her customers directly to notify them.

My main concerns right now are with the health and safety of my customers and staff, as well as protecting the public and doing my bit to encourage responsible social distancing. Sadly, many vulnerable customers and even those who are potentially symptomatic have still tried to come to the salon. This is beyond my control.

We should all be following the national advice as much as we can. Many small businesses have been left to make impossible decisions, whilst others have now been given direct instructions to close their doors. The current advice to the hair and beauty industry is unclear, and I hope that things will become more certain over the next fortnight.

For now, I choose to stand in solidarity with the hospitality sector to fight the spread of infection and help reduce the demand placed on those on the front line of our National Health Service, who are trying to save us all.

It breaks my heart to have to do this and it’s all I’ve been thinking about over the last few weeks. It hasn’t been an easy decision. Over the last 22 years, all of my customers have been absolutely fabulous and I appreciate you all. Many of you have been there for me throughout my own health hardships and have continued to support me when things have been tough. The tough times are here again, and I promise I will continue to give you all 100% until I am told I can’t.

Over the next two weeks I’ll be doing all I can to continue to give you a fantastic service, whatever shape or form that may take. From tomorrow, I’ll start contacting those of you who have appointments to speak to you individually and rearrange to suit your needs.

Unless told otherwise by the government, the current plan is to reopen on Tuesday 7 April 2020 with enhanced hygiene and social distancing measures in place.

Please take care of each other during this unprecedented time.

Love and thanks as always

We will update this page if there are any change to our services as well as post to our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
